Big Fat Cookies

1 pkg. yellow or devils food cake mix with pudding
1 c. semisweet chocolate chips

Heat oven to 375*.  Prepare cake mix as directed on package
except use ½ cup water and 2 eggs.  Omit vegetable oil.  Drop
dough by rounded tablespoons 3 inches apart onto greased cookie
sheet; sprinkle with chocolate chips.

Bake until almost no indentation remains when touched, 8-10
minutes; cool 1 minute.

About 30 cookies.

Soft Pumpkin Cookies

1 c. sugar
1 c. canned pumpkin
½ c. shortening
1 Tbsp. grated orange peel
2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
¼ tsp. salt
½ c. raisins
½ c. chopped nuts

Heat oven to 375*.  Mix sugar, pumpkin, shortening and orange peel.
Stir in flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon and salt.
Stir in raisins and nuts.  Drop dough by teaspoonfuls onto un-
greeased cookie sheet.  Bake until light brown, 8-10 minutes.

About 4 dozen cookies.
