Anne's Cookies

1 c lard or margarine   --cream together.
2 c brown sugar
3 eggs
¼tsp salt                 -- Add
2 tsp soda
2 tsp cream of tarter
3 ¼ c flour
2 tsp vanilla                            Roll into little balls
                                         and press down with fork.
Stir in -- 2 c ground raisens            Bake at 325°.
           ½ c chopped nuts

Coconut Cookies

2/3 c lard or margarine )
2 c brown sugar         )--Cream together
2 eggs ------------------------)
2 c flour                      )--Add.-----)
1 tsp baking powder                        ) * Drop by spoonsful
1 tsp soda dissolved in a little hot water ) * onto cookie sheet.
1 c coconut                                ) * Bake at 325°
3 c oatmeal

Frozen Pinwheel Cookies

1 c shortening   -Cream together
1 c white sugar
2 eggs
3 Tbsp milk                        Divide dough in half and add
3 c flour                          cocoa (enough to color dough)
3 tsp baking powder                to one part.  Roll out both
¼ tsp salt                         into sausage-like rolls.  Place
2 tsp vanilla                      one on top of the other and roll
                                   into one roll.  Refrigerate or
                                   freeze overnight.  Slice thin
                                   and bake at 325°

Plain Frozen Cookies

1 c shortening    )
1 c white sugar   )--Cream together.
1 c brown sugar   )
4 ½ c flour         )               Shape into loaf and chill or
3 eggs              )--Add.         freeze overnight.  Slice thin
½ tsp salt          )               and bake at 325°.
½ tsp soda          )
1 tsp cinnamon      )              *Can add 1 c chopped nuts to
1 tsp baking powder )               dough before freezing (if desire
