Ice Box Date Nut Cookies

2 cups brown sugar               ½ cup Crisco
½ cup butter                     2 eggs

Cream the above together.

3 cups flour                     ½ tsp. salt
1 tsp. cream of tartar           2 cups pecans
1 tsp. soda
1 lb. dates

Stiff dough.  Refrigerated 2-4 hours, until chilled and easy to
slice.  Meks 2 rolls and slice.  Bake 325* for 8-10 minutes.
